THE POTTER AND THE CLAY

Jeremiah went to the potter's house
The word of the Lord to hear
When he got to the potter's house
The potter was working there
He was working on a vessel
That was marred in his hand
So he made another one
Often this his work demands

Jeremiah heard the Lord's word
Saying to him there that day
Israel can I not do to you
Like the potter does to the clay
As the clay is in his hand
So Israel you are in mine
If you will let Me mold you
Everything will turn out fine

We too would benefit today
If God put us on His wheel
If we let God have His way
To work in us His perfect will
With gentleness He'd mold us
To how we ought to be
When God does the molding
It's what's best for you and me

(Jeremiah 18:1-6)
