Don’t Say You Love Me

Don’t say you love Me and call Me your Father
and then not do what I say
Don’t say you love me unless you're willing
to pay the cost of a servant today
Don’t say you love Me with your lips
when I know your heart is far away
Don’t say you love me I’d rather not hear it
for empty words are all you say

Don’t say you love me if you’re not prepared
to my commands to be true
Don’t say you love me unless your prepared
to do what I ask you to do
Don’t say you love Me just to say it
for I know what is really true
Don’t say you love Me if you aren’t prepared
to share what I ‘ve given to you

Don’t say you love me and do nothing at all
as this world goes on to hell
Don’t say you love Me and not tell them
the truth of my gospel as well
Don’t say you love Me and sit idly by
as mankind is forever lost
Don’t say you love me if you aren’t prepared
to reach them whatever the cost

Don’t say you love me then hurt your neighbor
or gossip about someone
Don’t say you love Me if you aren’t living
in the example of my Son
Don’t you say you love Me then do nothing at all
but just what is of interest to you
Don’t say you love Me when I am aware
of just all that it is that you do

Don’t say you love Me I’d rather not hear
your voice speak to me at all
Don’t say you love Me if it isn’t true
for I will not hear when you call
Don’t say you love Me if it's from the mouth
and doesn’t come from the heart
For if you do, one day you will hear
away from Me, depart
