DESERT TRIP

While wandering in the wilderness God’s people found that they
Had no choice but to trust Him, there was no other way
Their food and water had run out, sometimes they couldn’t see
Where their help would come from, so to Moses they would flee.

There was no store to run to, when their supplies ran out
They often got discouraged and at Moses they would shout
Why did you bring us here to die, you should have left us alone
At least down in Egypt we had food and a home.

Day after day God proved Himself in mighty acts of power
By sending quails and manna he fed them every hour
Still the people murmured, still they all complained
God couldn’t seem to please them, on Him they placed the blame.

No matter what He did for them, it never was enough
All they could see was that their lives were so very tough
Still when he brought them through, although they complained
All of them were healthy, not one of them were lame.

Don’t murmur against God, let Him work things His way
Reward comes through obedience, murmuring doesn’t pay
For God is always right on time, He always knows what’s best
We must cease our murmuring and in His presence rest.

(Exodus 15:22-25, 16:2-4, 13-14)
