Scripture 1 Samuel 17:23-24,40-51

David was just a boy when he was anointed by Samuel. From that day, the Spirit of the Lord was upon him. One day David's father sent him to bring food to his brothers. While he was there, the Philistines champion fighter came out to speak to the men ofIsrael Verse 24 tells us that they fled from Goliath in fear. He was about 9ft. in height. He was a giant in comparison to an ordinary man. David went to Saul and told him that he would fight Goliath.

David could have chosen to just blend in with the rest and do absolutely nothing. No one would have said anything to him, because he was so young. However, David had faith in God. He knew God could handle any situation.

Saul wanted David to wear his armour, but David said no. Instead, for his weapons he chose his sling and 5 smooth stones out of the brook. When he faced Goliath, he didn't stand in his own strength and power, for he said, "I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts. The God of Israel." David put a stone in his sling and in one single shot, he killed the mighty Goliath. Why? Because he stood in the power and strength of his God. God gave David the victory.

Are there any giants in your life? If there are, allow God to take care of them. Have the same confidence in Him that David did and He'll never disappoint you.

David killed Goliath the giant,
With just a single stone.
Remember when you face your giant,
You're not standing there alone.
