Scripture Ezekiel 37:1-10

Can you possibly imagine how Ezekiel must have felt when led by the Spirit of the Lord, he was set down in a valley full of dry bones? The Lord then asked Ezekiel if the bones could live again. He told him to prophecy on the bones and He would cause them to live.

Ezekiel didn't stand there and wonder if God could really do it. No, he obeyed God and what a sight he saw. As he prophesied, he heard a noise and a shaking, and all the bones came together and skin covered them, but they had no life in them. Then God told Ezekiel to prophecy unto the wind to come and breathe upon them so they could live. Praise God, breath came into them and they lived and stood on their feet, a great army.

Some Christians are sometimes like those dry bones. They know they are born again, but they feel dry and useless. Sometimes it seems like they have no hope. If they would allow the Holy Spirit to have full control and let Him breathe the power of God upon them, they too would spring to life, a great army, on fire to be used by God.

Do you feel tired and weary? If you do, take an example from this passage, and allow the Holy Spirit to breathe new life into you. Allow Him to fill you so that you too can be used for the glory of God.

God breathed new breath into the bones
In the valley there that day
His Spirit will breathe new life in us
If we seek His face and pray.
