However, when you come to think of it, would we have done differently? Peter felt pressured by the people around him. His denial was out in public for all to see and hear, but how often do we hear people take the name of the Lord in vain and we remain there, silent? If we heard someone in our family being talked about, how quick we would be to stand up in their defence. How much quicker should we come to the defence of our Saviour and Lord when He is being blasphemed.
Jesus said in Mark 8:38 that if we are ashamed of Him and His words, that He would be ashamed of us when He comes. So, the next time we are quick to judge Peter for his denial of Jesus, we should look within our own lives and see if there is any time that we denied Him. For the bible says to judge not and you won't be judged.
