Scripture Ezekiel 34:11-16

What a beautiful example of a God who truly cares about His people. In this passage, we see that God is telling Israel that He will seek them out and help them like a shepherd tends and cares for his sheep. He told them that He would bring again that which was lost, bind up that which was broken, and strengthen that which was sick.

This can also apply to us today. We too like sheep, are prone to wander from our shepherd Jesus' care. We tend to go in paths that are dangerous and lose our way. But Praise God, our shepherd gently calls us to return, and when we do, He doesn't turn us away. He gently cares for us and restores us to the place where we once were.

Aren't you glad that Jesus is always there? What would we do if we didn't have Him to turn to? Maybe as you read this today, you are not as close to Jesus as you once were. Maybe you wandered away from His care and don't know how to come back. Just ask Jesus to forgive you and restore your relationship with Him. He won't turn you away, but will gently care for you and once again you will be safely within His fold.


Return O wandering sheep return
And lean upon His breast
Return to Jesus' tender care
He always knows what's best.
