Scripture Luke 9:57-62

Many times during Jesus' ministry people said they would follow Him and then changed their minds. This instance in scripture was no different. The first man's excuse was that he had to bury his father, and the second one said that first he had to say good-bye to his family. In verse 62 Jesus said that no man who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.
When Jesus calls someone, there is only two replies that a person can make, yes or no. There is no maybe. Either we go all the way with Jesus and say yes, or we refuse Him and say no. Jesus deserves to be Lord of every part of our lives. It has to be all or nothing. When we decide to follow Jesus, we must count the cost because some start out and then they look back at what they used to have and they turn back. There is nothing in this world that can compare with living for Jesus.
Where do you stand in your walk with the Lord today? Have you determined in your heart to go all the way with Him? If you have, then turn your eyes upon Him, praise Him for who He is and don't turn back Your reward will be spending eternity with Him in Heaven.

Don't look back to where you've been
Look at where you're going.
With Jesus on the path ahead
The all seeing and all knowing.
