Scripture Ezra 3: 10-13

What a celebration of joy and thankfulness. Some wept for joy, while others shouted for joy. All this because the foundation for the temple had been laid. They were having quite a celebration and could be heard for quite a distance. The trumpets sounded and a volume of praise and thanksgiving went up before the Lord. They were not ashamed to praise the Lord in public. Many of the older priests who had seen the first temple could not contain themselves and wept openly, unashamed. Imagine all this celebration just because the foundation had been laid.

Here are we, living in a society with a church on almost every street corner and some of us couldn’t bother to go inside the doors. We have so much to be thankful for. It seems like the more we have, the less we appreciate having it. We should praise the Lord and thank Him every day for the places of worship that we have. Hebrews 10:25 says....Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

We should take advantage of every opportunity that comes our way to go out to the house of God and worship with our brothers and sisters. We can build each other up and support each other when things get rough. We can take an example from the people of Ezra’s day because they show us that to have a place of worship is a privilege and something to be thankful for.

Don’t ever take for granted
The church you may attend
Support it all the way
It’s where you worship Him.
