He admitted that he had come to them in weakness, fear and much trembling. He said his preaching was not done by man’s wisdom but by demonstration of the Spirit and of power. The reason for this was so that they would believe, not because of what he had to say, but because of the power of God they had seen.
There are many tremendous speakers in the world today. Some you could sit and listen to for hours. But if their preaching is not accompanied by evidence that the Holy Spirit is behind it, of what affect is it? And no matter what we see, we must always give the glory to God because without the power of the Holy Spirit flowing through them, what are they? It’s not the man, it’s what God does and says through him. Without the Spirit of God we are nothing and can do even less.
When we present the gospel to the lost, we present it, but the Holy Spirit does the convicting. He is to be given the credit of why they came to Jesus. Check your ministry today. Is what you have been doing for God successful? If not, allow the Holy Spirit to flow through you, and you will see what he can do through a vessel that is yielded.
