As we look around our world today and see all the hurt and sadness, how does it make us feel? Do our hearts ache to see so much suffering and pain? Do we shed tears of compassion as we pray for those who are so caught up in sin? Or do we simply say, “well, that’s how life is today.”
The way Jeremiah looked at things is the way every born again believer should feel as we see what is happening. As born again children of God, we cannot be content to see all the hurt and pain and not desire to do something about it. You may be asking, “what can I do?” I ask you today, “What have you tried to do? Have you tried to do anything at all?”
God expects us to become involved. If we seek His face and ask Him what He would have us to do, He will direct us. He will show us what to do. We can’t be content to go around like a horse with blinders on, only looking straight ahead, and be content to only take care of our own. We need to reach out in love and compassion to a world that desperately needs to know that someone, somewhere cares.
