Scripture Esther 4: 1-17

Haman was bent on destroying the Jewish people and had obtained letters to have all Jews killed on a certain day. When Mordecai knew what Haman had done, he put on sackcloth with ashes and sat before the King’s gate. Esther’s maids told her what her uncle had done and she sent clothes to him, trying to get him to change, but he wouldn’t. He told Esther that she should go before the King on behalf of her people. Esther told him that unless she was summoned by the King, she could lose her life. Mordecai told her that maybe she had been born for such a time as this. So Esther decided she would try and said...If I perish, I perish.

Esther put all her needs and fears aside and putting her people first. Have you been ever faced with a decision where you had to put others and their needs ahead of your own. Maybe when making the decision, the cost to you had been great. There may come a time in your life when you are at a crossroad and your natural senses are screaming go to the right. But you know in your heart that you must go to left even thought the benefits were much greater at the right.

Could it be that we as well were born for such a time as this? We were all born for some purpose. Like the vessels in the potters house....some are made for high and noble purposes, and some are just ordinary. But all were made with a purpose in mind. As we are also in God’s plan of things. Some people do great things. While others do smaller tasks. Whatever your lot in life, just allow God to use you to your fullest potential.

Whatever you are called to do
Do it with all your heart
For some purpose we were born
We all must do our part
