Scripture Zechariah 12: 9-10

There is coming a time when Jerusalem will be completely surrounded by their enemies. But God will come to their aid and completely destroy those who appose them. When He does that and pours out His grace, they will look upon the one that they had pierced and will mourn. They will finally realize that Jesus was indeed the Messiah that they had been waiting for. They will indeed mourn when they also realize that it was their own people who had denied who he was. When they think of what they did to Him, they will have reason to mourn. It says that they will mourn as one in bitterness.

When Jesus returns for those who are born again, will we have reason to mourn as we stand before Him? Or will we be able to stand before Him and look with confidence into His precious face, knowing we did all we could do for Him? Have we treated Him as He should be treated, like the King of Kings that He is? Are we giving Him all the praise and honour that is due Him? If we aren’t, then we too will have cause to mourn.

We need to make sure that we give Jesus all He deserves everyday. He died so that we might be saved. He loves us so much today and all He asks is we do all we can for Him and love Him in return. Who is more worthy of praise than Jesus?

When Jesus comes again
Some will mourn when they see
The awful way they treated
God’s Lamb of Calvary
