Scripture Isaiah 59: 1-4

Israel knew they were God’s chosen people and I sometimes wonder if that is why they continually rebelled against Him. So many times they went into paths of their own making and did those things which displeased God. It seemed like they were ever learning but never coming to an understanding. God had been so good to them, but they still took Him for granted. I guess they just assumed that He would always be there to listen to their cries.

In these verses Isaiah was again telling the people about their sin. In verse 1 he says...The Lord’s hand is not shortened that He cannot save, neither His ear heavy that he cannot hear. It wasn’t because He couldn’t, it was because He wouldn’t. According to verse 2 their sins had come between them and God. Because of their sins He had hidden His face from them and He would not listen to them anymore. He said their hands had shed blood and their lips had spoken lies. He also told them that no one wanted justice or truth. They were content with their sin.

Are you in this place in your life today? Are you content with your sin? Do you feel that you are alright the way you are? Well if you have never accepted Jesus as your Saviour, you are far from alright. You need to call upon Him and ask Him to forgive you of your sins.

To those of us who know and love Him, He is the most precious friend we have ever had. We must try every day not to grieve Him by doing things that are wrong. Instead we must strive to live the way that he would have us to live.

God still hears our prayers today
He answers when we call
We must follow Him all the way
And give to Him our all.
