Scripture Exodus 14: 10-31

God had miraculously delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt. Now the Egyptians were chasing them. What was the first thing they did when they saw them coming? They complained to Moses. After all God had just done for them, they still didn’t believe that He could get them out of this situation. Moses told them that God would fight for them and they were to hold their peace. I guess he was just plain tired of hearing them grumble.

Moses stretched his rod out over the Red Sea and the Lord caused the sea to go back by an East wind that blew all night. They went through the middle of the Red Sea on dry land. The water on both sides was like a wall to them. Can you possibly imagine the miracle that had occurred here?

The Egyptians went in after them. Then the Lord had Moses stretch forth his rod again and the water came together upon the Egyptians. Verse 28 says that there was not one of them left. After the Israelites saw what God had done they rejoiced and trusted Him again. It seemed that God was always having to prove Himself to them before they trusted Him.

What a mighty God we serve!!! Are you like the Israelites? Does God have to prove Himself to you constantly before you trust Him? Or do you trust Him regardless of what is happening around you? The latter is the better one. We can trust God with every area of our lives. He loves us today and He will be with us all the time and in all situations. If you haven’t been trusting Him, then start today. You will never be disappointed.

If God is on your side
You have no need to fear
In Him you sure can trust
For He is always there
