Scripture Philippians 1:12-18

Paul was in and out of prison because of preaching the gospel. He was always writing letters to encourage and teach the churches. This time he was telling them that his being in prison was not a bad thing. He said that because of what happened to him, the gospel was being preached even more. Many Christians were becoming bolder and less fearful when they were preaching the word.

Some were preaching Christ out of envy and strife. Paul said he didn’t care which way, or for what reason they were preaching the gospel, because either way it was being preached and that gave him reason to rejoice. Paul’s number one priority was to preach the gospel. Is that our number one priority today??? Do we share the good news of the saving power of Jesus with all we come in contact with?

Or do we never share our salvation with anyone else? I attended a Bible study by a dear friend of mine awhile ago and he asked the question, “Who Do You Love The Most?” If we were asked that I am sure we would all say Jesus. If that is true, then we need to tell everyone we meet that Jesus loves them and that He died so that they too may have eternal life.

Don’t be like the many Christians today who are afraid to tell people about this wonderful friend called Jesus. But let us tell all that we meet that there is someone who loves them and wants to meet them today. After all, if someone hadn’t shared the gospel with us, where would we be today?

Preach the gospel of Jesus
To all you meet today
Tell them Jesus loves them
He’s the light, the truth, the way
