Scripture Genesis 1:1-31

The prophet Habakkuk knew from God what He was about to bring upon the land and the people. God was about to judge the unrighteousness of the people and He was about to allow an enemy to overtake them. What was Habakkuk’s final words on what God was about to do? He said this...Though the fig tree didn’t bloom, or fruit be in the vines, or any meat, he would rejoice in the Lord. He would joy in the Lord of his salvation. In other words...No matter what happened he would continue to trust, rely on, and rejoice in his God.

This is not how a lot of people would react today. Sometimes you let one little thing go wrong, and what do they do? They turn their back on God and blame Him for not being there for them. They display anything but joy and trust. This is not to be our attitude. We, as born again children of God should have such a love for Him that nothing should shake our confidence in Him. We should trust God no matter what happens.

God is such a wonderful Father and he rightly deserves our trust at all times, not just when everything is going the way we want them to. We can say with Habakukk in verse 19...The Lord is my strength. We can praise Him today for who He is and for all He does. So the next time things aren’t going so well for you, take a look at all God has done in your life and I am sure you will see many reasons to be thankful.

God sometimes has to move
In ways we don’t understand
No matter how He moves
Hold tightly to His hand
