Scripture Mark 12: 13-17

People were always being sent to Jesus to try and trick Him so they could find something against Him. This time was no different. They asked Him if it was lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not. He knew them so well and knew what they were up to. He told them to bring Him a penny. Then He asked them whose image was on the coin. They said Caesar’s. He told them to give to Caesar what was Caesar’s and to God what was God’s.

When I read this for the first time it thrilled my heart. Jesus gave a spectacular answer, didn’t He? I am sure they never expected it. As usual Jesus was right. God should always have what is rightly due Him. He should never take second place in anything. Are we giving God what is rightly His? Does He receive all that He should from us? Do we give Him our love, time, and tithes? Do we spend time in His presence or do we use it in other ways and he gets just a small portion of what He should be getting?

We need to make sure that God is the #1 priority in our lives today. We need to make sure that we are not rendering unto someone else the things we should be giving Him. Don’t make that mistake.

Always render unto God
What he is rightfully due
We must give what’s right to Him
We must to God be true
