Scripture Genesis 6: 1-22

God had made a perfect world and had created man and placed him in the Garden of Eden.- But man fell, and after the fall of man, wickedness filled the earth. There was so much sin that God was sorry that He had even made man in the first place. People were doing every evil thing that they could imagine in their hearts to do. But there was one man who still walked with God.

God always has a man who will walk with Him when everyone else turns against Him. In this case it was Noah. Noah had found grace in the eyes of God because he had not allowed himself to become involved in the sin that was all around him. The only solution to deal with the sin that was in the world was to destroy all that was on the earth. So God decided to send a flood. But because of his relationship and faithfulness to God, Noah and his family would be spared.

God had Noah make a large boat so that him and his family and every kind of animal that God had created would be safe. Noah obeyed God and did everything He told him to do. This is an example that we can all learn from today. Noah didn’t become involved in the sin around him, he didn’t compromise his relationship with God just for a few pleasures. We do not have to either.

Even though we live in a world that is every bit as sinful as it was in Noah’s day. We can do the same as Noah did, and keep ourselves unspotted from the sin that is all around us. God rewarded Noah for walking with Him and He will also reward us. If we say no to sin and yes to right living, we will be living a life that is pleasing to God.

When there’s sin on every hand
To it we must say no
If we want to please God
The one who loves us so
