When we truly love each other, even the darkest place becomes bright with love. Love is like a lighthouse on the rocks of sin. Just as the light from the lighthouse warns the ships to stay away from the rocks, the light from the love of God that we show will guide others away from the ragged rocks of sin into the peaceful waters of God’s love.
As we look around at society we see that not many people invite others into their homes today. So there is not much of a chance for anyone to entertain strangers, much less angels in disguise. There is a good reason for the lack of hospitality though. Many are afraid to reach out to a stranger anymore because of the increased wave of crime that is flooding the world. I believe that if we allowed the Holy Spirit the place in our lives that He should have, then he will guide us to any stranger that needs help.
What a sad, sad society we live in where love is a dirty word and trust, in some cases, seem to be a thing of the past. Those of us who love Jesus must do our best to show as much love as we can so that others will see that love is still around and still works. The God kind of love that is.
