Scripture Psalm 106: 1-15

From this verse of scripture we are reminded once again of the wonderful way God treated Israel as He brought them out of Egypt. God did everything He could do for them but according to verse 14 they lusted and tempted God. No matter what He did for them they always turned their backs on Him and did the kind of things they knew He didn’t approve of.

This time God gave them what they requested, but what an awful price they paid. He sent leanness into their soul. There is absolutely nothing in this world that is worth having at the cost of losing out on fellowship with God. They may have gained the things they lusted for but what they lost was far greater than what they gained.

Maybe there are things that you would like to have, but deep in your heart you realize that it will hurt your relationship with God. My friend, don’t let anything come between you and God. The things and pleasures of this world only last for a short time. A relationship with God will last through the countless ages of eternity. Make sure you choose the right way in life, because the cost is great, the thing that is at stake is your eternal soul. Think about it!

Be careful what you lust for
Be careful what you choose
If you strive for the wrong things
Your soul you just might lose
