Scripture Jeremiah 17: 9-10

The Heart. That thing in the middle of your chest that keeps the rest of your body functioning. This of course is the Physical heart. These scriptures are talking about the spiritual heart. I once heard the spiritual heart described as the seat of our emotions. Here Jeremiah is saying that it is deceitful and desperately wicked.

Verse 10 says that the Lord searches the hearts and gives every man according to his ways, according to how he lives. The one thing we can try to hide from people is the condition of our heart. The one we can’t hide it from is God. We can tell others what they would like to hear and it may never be the way things are. But God knows everything. He doesn’t have to ask someone else’s opinion. He knows exactly what we are like

What is your heart filled with? Is it filled with hatred or do you have a heart of love and compassion? We have to be very careful what we allow to stay in our heart. Do you know the best thing that happens when you get saved? You get a complete heart transplant. God takes out the heart of stone and replaces it with a heart of love.

The best thing we can do is allow Jesus to come into our heart and save us. When we do that our lives take on a drastic change and the heart that was once bent on doing evil will seek to only do good. We no longer live to please our own selves but we live to please God.

A change of heart is something
We all need today
Jesus can fix any heart
If we let him have His way
