Scripture 1 Timothy 6:6-12

Have you noticed lately that there seems to be a rush on to save money. It seems that a lot of times a person's greatness is measured by the amount of things they have. While others are looked down on because they seem to have very little. Verse 6 says that godliness with contentment is great gain. It doesn't matter how much of this world's goods we have when we die. We brought nothing into this world and when our time comes to leave, we can't take anything with us. Success as far as I'm concerned, is not in the abundance of things we have but the kind of life we live.

Verse 11 tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil. It's not so much the money but what people do with it when they have it. Some people when they have a lot of money become very tight fisted and won't help those in need. They love money so much that they want more and more. Sometimes they will do anything and hurt anyone they have to, just to get more.

If you are one of those who are blessed financially, don't just keep it all for yourself. Share it with others who need your help. God never expects us to give what we don't have, but he does expect us to do all we can. Always be willing to do all you can. You'll never give to the point where you will out give God.

Don't trust in money, trust in the Lord
And live the best you can
Do all you can to help your neighbour
Determine to be a friend
