From the beginning of time, the only thing that could save was the shedding of blood and it's no different today. The only difference is that we do not have to take a lamb once a year and kill it so that our sins would be forgiven. God sent His sacrificial Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ to earth to die for the sins of mankind.
As Jesus hung on the cross His blood was shed for every human being that was ever born or who will ever be born. The blood applied to the doors saved the Israelites. The only way we can be saved today from the wrath of God that is to come, is by applying the blood of Jesus to our hearts. We have to confess our sins and accept Him as Lord and Saviour of our lives. There is absolutely no other way to Heaven.
