Scripture Matthew 8:1-4

Can you imagine the kind of life that a person with leprosy lived? They were cast out of their homes and towns and forced to live a life of loneliness. They wandered from place to place crying,"Unclean, unclean" so that no one would come near them. Picture yourself in their place if you can. How would you feel to be totally abandoned by everyone you loved? It must have been an awful way to live.

Then one day, this leper meet Jesus and his whole life changed. He asked Jesus if He would make him clean. Can you imagine how he must have felt for the first time, in what must have seemed like an eternity, someone touched him? He heard the words,"Be thou clean" and his leprosy was cleansed. He could now return to his family and friends.

There is another kind of disease today that is even worse than this, and that is the disease of sin. Leprosy was a sickness that caused the body to rot away a bit at a time. Sin causes the same affect. Much can be lost because of it and much loneliness accompanies it because you are separated from the one that died to give you life. You may not have to go about saying unclean, but when your life is full of sin, you are unclean in every sense of the word.

Just as Jesus met this leper at his point of need, He can meet your need today. If you are away from God, come back to Him today. Whatever your problem is, the answer is found in Jesus. Whatever your need is today, lay it at the feet of Jesus and let His will be done. You won't go away disappointed.

Bring all your cares to Jesus
And lay them at His feet
You won't be disappointed
Your every need He'll meet
