Can you imagine what was going through Gideon's mind as he made his way to the enemies camp? Verse 12 says that the army of the Midianites were like grasshoppers in the valley and their camels were without number. Gideon couldn't help but think how in the world was his puny army of 300 ever going to overcome a multitude so great.
When he reached the camp, he overheard one of the men telling how he dreamed about the downfall of his army. As Gideon listened, he knew that he was going to win. He worshipped God and returned to his camp and told his men that the enemy was already delivered into their hands by the Lord.
It should be enough for us to know that God will deliver us in times of trial and hardship. But sometimes like Gideon, we need a little extra bit of encouragement. When we do, God never fails us. Look to Him today for who He is, our Father, who is by our side at all times and in all situations. No matter what your battle is today, always remember that God, the one walking with you, is greater than any enemy you will ever face. Praise His name!
