Scripture Ezekiel 33:1-9

A lot of people feel that all they have to do is live the best life they can before God and everything will be alright. So they go about doing all they can for themselves and their families, taking no thought to the welfare of someone else. According to this Scripture, that is not the way it should have been in Ezekiel's day and it's not the way it should be today.

God told Ezekiel to warn the people of Israel. If he warned them and they didn't repent, their blood would not be required at his hand. But, if he didn't warn them and they died in their sin, then he would require their blood at his hand. In other words, he would be held responsible.

It's the same way for us today. We must warn those living around us to turn from their sin and turn to God. I believe with all of my heart that if we don't warn those who are in sin and they die in their sin, God will hold us responsible. I am not saying that we will be turned away by God , but that He will chastize us for not telling the lost that we come in contact with about what Jesus did for them. Awesome thought isn't it?

How awful if would be if when we finally stand before God, he is ashamed of us because we didn't reach out to the lost around us. We are to be Watchmen over the lost, the same as Ezekiel was. Woe to us if we do not warn others. May God give us the courage everyday to share the good news of the gospel with everyone we come in contact with.

Go warn the people God has said
Warn of the now impending dread
Warn them to flee from all the sin
Tell them they must ask Jesus in
