Scripture John 20:1-18

The crucifixion had taken place. Jesus was dead and buried. Mary Magdalene had come to the tomb. There is nothing that could have prepared her for what happened next. The stone was rolled away and the body of Jesus was gone. Jesus had told them that He would rise again, but I'm sure it never entered her mind. The only thing she could think of was that they had taken her Lord away and she couldn't find Him. As she stood by the tomb weeping, Jesus came and stood behind her. She didn't recognize Him until He spoke her name.

Oh what joy must have filled her heart at that moment to know that her beloved Master was alive. He told her to go and tell the brethren that he was ascending to the Father. I'm sure when Mary left that place it must have felt like her feet never touched the ground. She must have been thinking to herself,"It's true, He's alive, He's alive."

Praise God, we can echo the same message today. Jesus is alive and intercedes for His children at the Father's right hand. What a blessed privilege we have to be able to tell the world that Jesus is alive and is waiting at their hearts door to hear the words,"Come in Lord Jesus." Jesus' resurrection was only the beginning of wonderful things to come. He rose from the dead and offers eternal life to all who will accept it. Praise Him forever!

The message went abroad
The Saviour is alive
He's at the Father's hand above
Preparing for His bride.
