Scripture Jonah 1:1-15

The Lord told Jonah to go to the town of Ninevah and warn them of their wickedness. He didn't want to go, so he went to Tarshish trying to flee from the presence of the Lord. He found a ship and went aboard. The Lord sent a great wind and the ship was tossed about. The men on the ship did everything they could. They even threw their cargo overboard to lighten the ship, but nothing helped.

The men cast lots to see whose fault it was and the lot fell on Jonah. He explained the situation to them and told them the only way that the sea would get calm, was if they threw him overboard. They continued to try other solutions but eventually they had no choice but to do what Jonah has suggested. They threw him overboard and instantly the sea grew calm.

Jonah should have realized that there was nowhere he could hide from God. Everywhere we go, God is there. There may come a time in your life when God may ask you to do a particular thing. If He does, you may as well do it.. Jonah couldn't run from God and neither can you. Is God asking you to do something that seems impossible? If He is, don't take the route Jonah did. Yield to God and allow Him to use you. He'll supply you with all you'll need to do the job.

Don't run and hide when asked to do
A certain work for God.
For He knows everywhere you are
He's present at home or abroad.
