Scripture Exodus 32:31-35

When Moses came down from the mountain with the tablets of stone God had given him, he found out that the people were out of control. They were worshipping the calf that Aaron made. In his anger, Moses broke the tablets and destroyed the idol. Then he went back to God on their behalf. Moses told God that if he didn't forgive the people, to blot his name out of the book as well.

What an example of true love Moses showed for his people. He was willing to give up everything for them. What a perfect picture of the Messiah that was to come. Even on the cross, at the point of death, Jesus pleaded for the people who were killing him. He said, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do."

This should be our attitude as well toward the people we come in contact with. We should be able to go to God and pray on their behalf. Regardless of what people say or do to us, we should have the same concern for them that Moses had for the people of his day. All around us people are dying in their sin, but Jesus loves the sinner. We as His children can do no less.

Are we willing to say as Moses said. How far are we willing to go to see the lost brought to Jesus?

Moses went to God
For the people of his day
We must do the same
For others we must pray
