Scripture Acts 8:1-4
After the death of Stephen, the church went through a time of intense persecution. Saul went from house to house carrying men and women away to prison. You would think that after all the persecution, they would be afraid to speak about Jesus. Not so for the Christians of that day. They were scattered abroad and everywhere they went, they spread the word. They told anyone who would listen that Jesus saves. They took the commission of Jesus found in Mark 16:15 seriously.
Can this be said about us? Are we going out into the world and preaching the gospel to every creature? If every born again child of God did just that in the area they lived in, the gospel would indeed be preached. We have to do our part to reach our cities and towns for the Lord. If we don't do it, who will? Maybe as we look around us we can see people who need to know that Jesus loves them and cares about them. We need to tell them that Jesus is the same today and all they need to do is call upon His name.
Am I faithful to His command?
Is His word preached through the land?
Am I reaching out to man?
Am I doing all I can?
