Scripture Genesis 32:3-7

Jacob had wronged his brother and stolen his birthright. This made them separate for years. Jacob sent messengers to his brother to make peace with him. When the messengers returned, they informed Jacob that Esau was on his way to meet him with 400 men. Jacob became very afraid because he thought his brother was coming to seek revenge for how he treated him. How mistaken he was. The bible goes on to tell us that Esau had forgiven Jacob. He was deceived into thinking the worst because of what the messenger saw.

The spirit of deception is one of Satan's most powerful tools today. The way that Satan's deception works is that he makes things that are evil, appear innocent. He'll convince someone that one little drink won't hurt and sometimes that one little drink leads to that person becoming an alcoholic. He also has people convinced that sex is permissible as long as they are protected, even though the bible warns time and time again that fornication is a sin.

Christians today need to be aware of Satan's deception. They need to remember that Satan can transform himself into an angel of light and he can make things that are evil, appear innocent. The attitude that seems to be spreading is, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else, it's alright.

What about yourself? You too need to be protected from Satan's deception. Don't be deceived by him. Call on God to protect you and lead you in the right path.

The spirit of deception
Is one Satan will use.
Especially on God's children
Their lives he will abuse
