Scripture Psalm 121: 1-8

If you needed help today, who would you go to? Would you ask a family member, a friend or maybe even your pastor? Whoever you asked you would expect to get help, wouldn't you? The psalmist David had the right idea. He knew who to look to. He knew where his help came from. The same place ours as born again Christians comes from, from the Lord.

This scripture also tells us that He never slumbers or sleeps, so we can be assured that in the early hours of the morning when we can't sleep and need someone to talk to, the Lord is always there and awake too. It also tell us that He will keep us from evil. That He will keep our soul. He will watch over our coming and going at this present time and forevermore.

Knowing all this, when we need help, the very first one we should call on should be the Lord. Isn't it wonderful to know that we are serving someone who loves us so much that He not only died for us but He watches over us all the time. When we realize that, there is absolutely no reason why we should be concerned about anything we bring to the Lord.

So the next time you need help, the next time you need someone to talk to, remember Psalm 121. Read it and let the truth of it sink deep into your soul and then look to the Lord where your help comes from.

Our help comes from the Lord
He's there when things go wrong
He watches over those
That to Himself belong
