Scripture: 1 John 2:15-17

Would you say there is any other time in this world's history when people were so worldly minded. The things of the world has such an appeal that people are trying to get all they can. It seems like a vicious cycle that never seems to end. For those of us who are born again, this is not how it should be.

the world. If we love the things of the world more than we love God, His love is not in us. When we are more concerned about the things of the world than the things of God, something is wrong. God is not saying that we cannot have a nice home, car, and the things that we need. He will supply all of our needs. We also have to remember that all that is in the world, will one day pass away and we have to give them proper place in our lives.

But, verse 17 says that he who does the will of God will abide forever. Worldly things are more than the things you can hold in your hands. There is also the sin of lust, pride, selfishness, the craving for material things, etc... The list goes on and on. But we have to put everything else aside and realize that the most important thing is that we allow God's will to be done in our lives, and our relationship with him be the top priority in our lives.

What has first place in your life today? Is it your family, your home, money, maybe your new car or bike? It is so important that we put God first in everything, and when we do, everything else will fall into its proper place.

Don't let the worldly things
Fill up your life today
Continue to do God's will
For things will pass away
