I love the Lord's answer because it stopped them dead in their tracks. He said, "He that is without sin, cast the first stone." What a predicament He put them in. If any of them had cast a stone, they would have been saying that they were sinless and there is no one but God who is sinless. Their own consciences convicted them and one by one they all left. It was just Jesus and the woman standing there. Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more."
This is what He says to those of us who have asked and will ask for His forgiveness. He forgives us and tells us to go and sin no more. But don't forget the last part...go and sin no more. Jesus will always forgive us when we ask Him to, but He also expects us not to go out and do the same thing again. He expects us to learn by our mistakes and our sins. What a loving, kind, so compassionate Saviour He is. Do you know Him? If you don't, receive Him into your life today. If you do, just continue to love and serve Him.
