Scripture: Zechariah 14:1-9
This scripture deals with future events that will happen. All throughout history nations have set themselves against Jerusalem to destroy it. Many people failed to realize that until it's God's time, it was useless. One day, the nations will gather against Jerusalem and according to this scripture, the city will be captured and ravished. Half of the population will be taken and half will be left. The nations who do this, will feel that they have finally won, but verse three says, that God goes out to fight for Jerusalem. Woe to the nations who try to fight against God. What a useless thing to do.
I love what verse nine says, "Then the Lord will be King over the whole earth and He alone will be worshipped." There is coming a time, when there will be no more idol worship. No one claiming that Baal is god, or Budda or anyone else. The true God will reign supreme and Him and only Him will be worshipped. All false gods will be destroyed and everyone will know that God is God. Aren't you glad today that you worship the true God and not some silly idol that can't hear, see, think, or feel. Worship the Lord today and praise Him for He alone is worthy.
One thing the world will know
When the final battle's won
That God is the one true God
And Jesus is His Son
