Scripture 1 Kings 22: 23,36
When a king was planning to go into battle, he inquired of the Lord if it was right for him to go or not to go. This king called for the prophets and they all told him to go, they said the time was right. The only one he didn't ask was the prophet Micaiah because he felt he always told him bad news. The reason for this was because he always told him the truth. He finally called for him though and sure enough, Micaiah predicted doom. He even went as far as to say that a lying spirit was in the mouth of the other prophets. He said that Israel would be scattered and every man would return to his own house. Verse 36 shows that Micaiah was right.
In some cases, this is happening today. A lot of so called "ministers of God" have a lying spirit in their mouths. Some are leading their people foolishly by telling them that it's okay to do certain things, when in reality, they are the very things that will bring them down to the pits of hell, unless they repent. Remember well this day to always test the spirits because all that we hear and see is not always from God.
Whenever you are not sure of something you have heard or read, check it out in God's word. If it doesn't line up with the bible, don't believe it. Shut your ears and mind to it and ask the Holy Spirit to show you what is right. Be assured, He will never lead you astray.
Be sure to test the spirits
Make sure that they are true
For Satan he is going forth
To deceive me and you
