Scripture Luke 14:25-33

There are people who seem to have some problems with this scripture. They feel that God, who is always telling us to love everyone, is now telling us to hate our own family. That is not what Jesus meant. Jesus was telling them that when they made a decision, they must count the cost.

He didn't need people who would only follow Him half way. He needed people who would put everything else, including family second place. He must have first place or nothing at all. Jesus wasn't telling you to hate your family members, He was saying that if you had to choose between them and Him, you must be willing to choose Him.

Remember, He gave His all for us. Just as a carpenter has to be sure he has what it takes to complete a job, we have to determine in our hearts that when we accept Jesus, we will go all the way with Him. Regardless of how tough it may become. Many get saved and expect everything to be smooth sailing from that day forward. Living a Christian life is not problem free, and some that appose you may be members of your own family. When you choose to follow Jesus, he will always make a way for you, if you trust Him to. It's up to you. Be careful what you choose

Jesus went all the way for us
Can we do any less for Him
Be sure to always count the cost
For halfway runners never win
