Scripture 1 Timothy 2: 1-4
We don't have to look any further than the evening news to see how much turmoil there is in our world. Leaders of Governments are scratching their heads, not knowing where to turn or what to do next. A lot of people curse our government leaders and say all manner of evil against the. Paul on the other hand is telling us to pray for all men, even those who are in authority over us. We are to intercede for them in prayer and be thankful for them. Quite a far cry from what is really happening, isn't it? Paul went on to say that when we do this, God is pleased.
When we look at our Government leaders, do we look at them simply as someone who has failed us, or do we also look at them as souls that need to be saved and know Jesus? Do we ever take the time to look at them as people in need of a Saviour? If we don't, then it is about time we did.
Verse 4 says that God wants all men to come to the knowledge of the truth. That includes our leaders and all those in authority over us. So, the next time we see one of our leaders do something we know is not right, pray for them. Ask God to help them realize the truth. We never know the difference our prayer will make.
Don't talk about our leaders
Leave them in God's care
The best you can do for them
Is intercede in prayer
