Scripture Philippians 2: 5-8

I have often heard the mind described as the battlefield of the body. I find this to be very true. I heard a joke one time where a man said, "I think, therefore I am." he said that the way he was, depended on the way he thought. It may have seemed funny to him, but isn't it true? Verse 5 says...Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Our minds are to be like the mind of Jesus was.

Jesus, the one who took upon Him the form of a servant. The one who went to the cross and died so that we might live. If we thought the way that Jesus thought, I doubt that we would ever again judge our brother or sister. All our thoughts toward others would be different.

While we live in these earthly bodies, Satan will come time and time again and try to put bad things in our minds. It is up to us whether we let them stay there or not. It is not a sin to have a bad thought pass through your mind. The sin comes when you allow it to stay there and you act on it. When Satan brings something to our mind that we know should not be there, don't dwell on it at all. Bind it in the name of Jesus and cast it out.

The best way to stop Satan from cluttering our minds with useless things is to surrender our minds to God and bring them under the control of the Holy Spirit. Every day our prayer should be...Father, let this mind be in me that was also in Christ Jesus.

Protect your mind today
Be careful what you think
If Satan controls your mind
Into despair you'll sink
