Scripture Song of Solomon 8:7

Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it. Love...it is one of the most beautiful words in the English dictionary when it is not abused. I agree with Solomon. When it is true love, nothing can destroy it. However, many bad things have also been done in the name of love. A parent abuses a child and tells them it is for their own good because they love them. A partner abuses a spouse in the name of love, to teach them a lesson. That is not true love.

True love is found in what God did...For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, so that whoever believes on Him might have everlasting life (John 3:16) God’s love is an unconditional love and so should ours be. We should not say, “I’ll love you if you do this or that.” We should say, “I’ll love you regardless of what you say or do.” If God was that way with us, we would sometimes find ourselves in a very bad situation wouldn’t we?

We can thank God today for the great love that He has toward us. We should also ask Him to help us love and look at others the way that He sees them. When we see others the way God does, we will truly be loving as we should. Whoever you come in contact with from now on, try to show them the love of God. Only God alone will know the results when you do that. This world is in desperate need for love. God’s kind of love.

Love when it is shown
Is what changes man today
If we show love to all we meet
It will brighten up their day
