Scripture 1 Peter 3:13-17

I have heard stories about people from all over the world who are suffering because of their faith. They are not suffering because of any wrong they are doing but because of the right they are doing. This scripture says that if we suffer for the good we do, we should be happy.

When someone asks us why we believe like we do, we should be always prepared to give an answer. We should tell them of the hope that we have. If anyone speaks evil of us and we know that we have a clear conscience, we know that what they are saying is false, we can rejoice. But if what they are saying is true and it is not the proper way for a child of God to act, then we have no reason whatsoever to be happy or proud of ourselves.

Maybe as you read this you may have been accused of doing or saying something that you know in your heart you didn’t say or do. If that is the case, rejoice. God knows the truth and that is what is most important. He is the ultimate judge, the one you will have to answer to.

We cannot expect to go through this life as a Christian and have everyone totally agree with everything we say and do. There will be times when we will be totally misunderstood. But in those times remember, you have a clear conscience and God knows the truth.

If you’ve done nothing wrong
But get blamed anyway
Seek direction from the Lord
And for that person pray
