Scripture James 3; 14-18

James in this passage of scripture is talking about two kinds of wisdom. One is from the devil, the other is from God. Which wisdom do you have? Do you have bitterness, envy and strife in your heart? If you do, that is from the devil. James says that this is unspiritual. It also brings confusion. But the wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, full of mercy and without hypocrisy. What a difference there is in the wisdom that comes from above compared to the wisdom that comes from Satan.

I can understand how anyone who is serving Satan can be the way the first wisdom is described. But for anyone who calls themselves a child of God, this is not the kind of things that should be in our lives.

In the first chapter of James he says that if anyone lacks wisdom he should ask God for it. (James 1:5) When we ask, we will receive. We need the wisdom of God in our life everyday. Satan is busy filling people's lives with all kinds of sinful things. But as long as we live the way God would have us to live, we will be alright. So don't allow Satan any foothold in your life whatsoever. You keep your heart and mind in tune with God and walk in His wisdom

God gives His wisdom today
To anyone who will ask
We need to have it in our lives
No matter what the task.
