Scripture Genesis 7: 1-16

Noah had been told by God that he was to build an ark because He was going to destroy every living thing upon the earth. The reason for the ark was to save Noah and his family and the animals. There were only 8 people who found grace in the eyes of God on all the earth. Can you possibly imagine how evil and wicked the world must have been for God to make such a decision.

When the time was come, Noah and his family, along with the animals went into the ark. Can any of us even hope to imagine what the scene outside the ark was like as the rain, (for the first time) started to fall and the water started to rise. I'm sure there were many who banged on the ark and screamed for Noah to let them in. But, Noah could do nothing about it because verse 16 says that the Lord shut him in. How hard it must have been for Noah knowing what was going on outside. How much more it must have grieved the heart of God to do what He did.

God didn't want anyone to perish, but sin always leads to death. Just as the flood destroyed the people then, there is coming another time when God will once again pour out His judgement upon this sinful world. Just as the people of Noah's day had a choice to go into the ark of safety, we too have a choice today. Jesus came and died so that you and I could be saved. Make your choice today. Accept Jesus and escape what will come upon this world or refuse Him and fall under the judgement of God. Think about what happened in Noah's day and choose this day whom you will serve.

Make sure your soul is ready
When God says life is o'er
Because the day will come
When His wrath will be outpoured
