Scripture Exodus 1: 15-20

The children of Israel were in Egypt under bondage. They had taskmasters placed over them that treated them anything but fair. As a matter of fact from these scriptures, even the midwives were told to kill all the male children as they were being born. The midwives feared God and so they didn’t do what they were told to do.

When the King called them in to ask them why they didn’t do as he said, I would say they were very scared. When he asked why they didn’t kill the baby boys, they told him that the Hebrew women were different than they were and the babies were born before they got there. The midwives must have known about the power of God because they would have rather faced the fury of the King, than face the God of Israel. God honoured them for what they did for His people.

Because of what they did, the people became larger in number. There may come a time in your life when you might have to choose whether to do what you feel God is leading you to do, or what man wants. If you know what is good for you, you’d better choose to obey God rather than men. If you go with what man wants, you will be going against God. Be very careful what you decide. Your very life may depend upon it.

If you must make a choice
Be careful who you choose
With God you always win
With the world, you lose.
