Scripture Luke 2:8-20

Can you imagine how these men felt? Here they were sitting on a hillside looking after their sheep, when all of a sudden the night was filled with the glory of the Lord. Verse 9 says that it shone about them. Oh how brilliant the dark night must have become. They were afraid, but the angel told them something that must have thrilled their hearts. The angel announced that the long awaited Messiah had finally come and if they would go to Bethlehem, they would find Him there. Then a great company filled the air, singing praises unto God.

WOW! What a great experience for some ordinary shepherds. They went and saw the babe and then spread the news abroad. They went and told others because they knew it was something special, not something to be kept to themselves. Sad to say, there are people today who only look at this as a Christmas story and nothing more. But to those of us who have accepted Jesus into our lives as Saviour and Lord, it is only the beginning. Jesus came on a night so very long ago and He's still alive today. I'm sure those shepherds were never the same again and Jesus is still in the business of changing lives today.

Have you accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour? If you haven't, why not ask Him right now to forgive you of your sins and come into your heart. Then go out and spread it abroad that Jesus Christ has come. What a wonderful way to start your New Year.

Was Jesus Christ God's Son
