Scriptures Acts 10: 28-48

As we can see from this scripture and others we have read, there was a time when it was unlawful for a Jew to be in the company of someone from a different nation. But, now God had shown Peter that he should not call any man common or unclean. How surprised Peter must have been, but whether he was surprised or not, he knew God had spoken and he knew he had to listen.

Verse 34-35 is very precious. It says...I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation whoever fears God and works righteousness is accepted with Him. Praise God for that!!! Where would we be today if salvation had only been for the Jews. I hate to even think about the hopelessness and despair there would be without the hope that I find in Jesus Christ.

Because of salvation coming to the gentiles, Peter had to tell the others what God had showed him. It probably wasn’t an easy thing for Peter to do because the Jewish people had always believed the way they had. But, we see in Verses 44-46 that God confirmed it by filling those present with His Spirit.

When we tell others the good news of the gospel, many may not want to listen. Satan has the hearts and eyes of many blinded so they can’t see and understand. (2 Cor. 4:4) It is our responsibility to tell them. The Holy Spirit will convict their hearts. Do as Peter did. Tell others what you must tell them, even if you know it won’t be the popular thing to say. God will honour what you do and seeds will be planted and souls won for the kingdom of God. Only eternity will show the outcome.

Thank God for the time
Salvation came our way
We must share what we have
With all we meet today
