Scripture Psalm 84: 1-12

There is no better place for a believer to spend time than in the house of God. Psalm 122:1 says....I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord. One of the greatest desires of our hearts should be to attend God’s house. Verse 4 says that those who dwell in His house is blessed. There are many today who strive to bring themselves to places of importance. They want to be in only the highest positions.

I like what the Psalmist said in Verse 10. He said...I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. That is exactly how I feel. I would rather do the least there is to do in God’s house, than to be in places where wickedness is rampant and people are miserable. Those who take part in the worldly things experience a joy that is short lived. Those who dwell in the house of the Lord experience a joy that is everlasting.

Many feel that they have it made because they are in places of honour and are envied by others. I feel I have it made when I am able to attend the house of God and sit and worship with my brothers and sisters in the Lord. There is no feeling in any place of high position in this world that can compare to the feeling of a right relationship with God. It doesn’t matter to me if I am well known by the world. What matters is that I am known by God and that He is glorified and uplifted in my life.

Attend the house of God every chance you get. And remember if He wants us in places of honour, He will put us there. Be content where you are and do all you can for the work of the Lord, even if it is a doorkeeper.

Whatever you do for God
Be content to be used today
Don’t strive for personal greatness
God may choose another way
