The Pharisees, as usual, were indignant. They knew the reputation of the woman that was before Jesus. They figured if Jesus knew who she was He wouldn’t let her do what she was doing. It’s quite obvious that they didn’t know who Jesus was, or they would have know that He knew all about the woman. I am so glad that Jesus looks at people the way He does. He looks at the heart and not what is on the outside.
Jesus turned the tables on them. He told Simon that he didn’t give Him any water to wash His feet, but the woman had washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. He didn’t kiss Him when He came into the house, but she had kissed His feet. He didn’t anoint His feet, but the woman had anointed His head with oil. Jesus, to the indignation of those present, forgave her sins and told her to go in peace. Because of her worship and repentance by what she had done, she received forgiveness.
What a wonderful Saviour He is. Thank God that Jesus always sees the real need behind all that we do. He knows the real you today. And he loves you so much. Be sure and thank Him this day for who He is and for all that he does in your life. He well deserves our worship and praise. Bless you Jesus!!!!!
