Scripture 1 Timothy 1: 12-17

Paul was so thankful to Jesus Christ for calling him into the ministry. Paul was someone who had taken believers and put them in prison. He persecuted them every chance he got. Then he met Jesus on the road to Damascus and his life completely changed. He became part of the family of God and now he was on the same side of the ones he had persecuted.

Jesus forgave Paul because what he did, he did in ignorant unbelief. But the abundant grace of God was enough for Paul. He said in verse 15 that Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom he felt he was chief. Paul was so thankful for the mercy and love that Jesus had shown him. We too can be thankful today because the same mercy, love and forgiveness is still being shown.

Where do you stand today? Are you where Paul was? Do you doubt that God loves you and that Jesus is real? If you do, allow Him to show you like He showed Paul, that Jesus is indeed real and that He loves you. Maybe you have people in your family that are not saved and you doubt they ever will be. Don’t doubt that God can save them. Surely they are no worse than Paul was. Jesus reached Paul and completely changed him and He can do the same for anyone.

Jesus came to save sinners
No matter how bad they are
He can save them completely
Though in sin they may go far
